Ten Little Fingers, Ten Tiny Toes

This beautiful family just grew by ten little fingers and ten tiny toes. Big sister is just so proud of her new, bright-eyed baby. The original plan was to capture the birth but COVID-19 so uninvitedly put her foot down and said, “Not so fast.” Can’t blame mom for having her spouse as her one support person rather than her photographer. ;)

In the trenches of newborndom, mom reached out to switch gears to a newborn lifestyle session. It’s such a privilege to be invited into their lives to capture some sweet everyday moments as they find their rhythm as a family of four. Welcome, baby girl!

North Shore Neighs

I was thrilled when this family contacted me for some updated family photos. Their last session with Kalina Kai Photography included princess shoes, dancing in the woods, and exploring various leaves and sticks, so I knew we were up for more fun this time around. The little girl loves horses, and do you know what we saw during this session? HORSES! We traded lush foliage for sandy feet and enjoyed an evening hunting for bottle caps, watching the horses, and splashing in the water during the magical golden hour.

A Tub in Paradise

I’m so excited to introduce a recent collaboration with Mai from Aloha Paradise Tub. When walking into her inviting space, you’re greeted with a welcoming smile and a warm bath that’s filled with beautiful and freshly-picked flowers. She makes you feel at home and does not overlook any detail, from THE most beautifully handcrafted lei po’o to a jamming (or soothing, if you choose) playlist to a pitcher of fruit-infused water. As my model steps into the tub, Mai helps so gently place each flower around her to make sure everything is picture-perfect.

Now, my model. She’s amazing, simply put. A natural. She will welcome her bundle of joy this month but she cut a deal with the nugget to make it through the photo session and then she’s welcome to arrive at any time. I’m happy to report that baby complied, so we wish mom and baby a happy, healthy, smooth entrance into the world any day now.
